National Geographic Society

Education Support Team Intern

I was the first National Geographic Society intern to pitch and lead an organizational-wide project. Along with a team of other interns that I helped organize, we held over 50 listening sessions with staff members from around the world and presented a report to vice presidents and managers at National Geographic Society on international inclusivity and cross-cultural communication. We identified goals for how they can consider these themes in their daily work and programming.

I also helped develop a plan to implement a department-wide project management system for the Education Team. I evaluated discussions and research on best practices for protocol, applied communication and social science theories and I held a diversity, equity and inclusion review.

Fox Chase Cancer Center

Public Relations and Communications Intern

This internship gave me the chance to combine my science expertise with my passion for communications. In this role, I wrote and edited time-sensitive press releases, interviewed and wrote profiles on former and current patients to share their stories of their experiences with the Center, interviewed doctors and health care professionals and converted scientific writings.

The Weiss Agency

Assistant to the Executive Vice President

While volunteering for the Alliance for Women in Media’s Gracie Awards’ judging weekend, I met Heather Cohen, the Executive Vice President of The Weiss Agency. She later offered me an internship that summer and I have stayed on the team as a contractor. In this position, I mainly create media packets and packages for individual clients and work with them on improving social media platforms, enhancing their online presence and showcasing them.

School for International Training

Independent Qualitative Study in Buenos Aires, Argentina

While studying human rights and social movements in Argentina, I performed an independent qualitative study on the effects of the pandemic in the development of young children’s nutritional habits in a section of the city. I wrote a 40-page paper on the findings and was selected to be published in the School for International Training’s online library.
